A program which is strictly geared towards Women Owned Businesses, the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contracting Program and the Economically Disadvantaged Women Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) Contracting Program, allows Women Entrepreneurs to gain access to new economic opportunities. The goal of the program is to assist women to thrive in a competitive business environment. The WOSB and EDWOSB programs authorize contracting officers to set aside federal contracts specifically for Women Owned Businesses.

The Federal government must award 5% of its prime and subcontract dollars to women-owned small businesses, opening up new possibilities of growth for your company. One purpose of this program is to enable contracting officers to meet these goals by specifically setting aside, certain requirements for competition solely amongst WOSBs or EDWOSBs and ensure a level playing field when bidding against much larger firms.

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Meet small business size standard for primary NAICS code and contract
  2. At least 51% unconditionally and directly owned by women who are U.S. citizens.
  3. The woman must manage the day-to-day operations
  4. The woman must make the long-term decisions for the business
  5. A woman must hold highest officer position
  6. The woman must work at the business full-time during normal working hours
  7. No minimum amount of time the business has been operational
